What you can do in spaces in Webex can vary, depending on your role. You might be moderating a team for one project and be listening in as an external participant on another. The people in these roles don't need to be part of your organization; external users can take on any of these roles, too. In the Teams apps menu, click on Setup policies and add the Cisco Webex Call app to your Microsoft setup. Users will now be able to click Webex Call at the bottom of a window when chatting in Microsoft Teams.

  1. External access - A type of federation that allows users to find, call, and chat with people in other organizations. These people cannot be added to teams unless they are invited as guests. Guest access - Guest access allows you to invite people from outside your organization to join a team.
  2. Webex External Users in Spaces With Webex, you're not limited to communicating only with people within your organization. If you're working with other people, such as vendors or customers, you can invite them to collaborate with you in the Webex app.

When you block external communication for your users, the following applies for this setting:

  • Is applied to new spaces.

  • For existing spaces, existing people are not removed and the setting is applied to people joining these existing spaces. This applies to spaces owned by your organization and existing spaces owned by external organizations.

  • When people leave group spaces and try to rejoin the group spaces the settings are applied.

  • Does not apply to bots.

From the customer view in https://admin.webex.com, go to Settings.

Scroll to External Communication and click Block your users from inviting external contacts to Webex spaces and prevent your users from joining external Webex spaces. Java browser plugin for mac.

Click to confirm the acknowledgment and select Done.

Create a list of allowed domains, enter a domain, to confirm the status of the domain click Check domain, and then click Add.

Click Save.

Users in your organization can communicate with users in external organizations in the allowed domains list. Users in your organization can do the following:

  • Add people from these organizations into spaces owned by your organization.

  • Adobe indesign cs6 free trial. Join spaces owned by these external organizations.

  • Create spaces with people from these external organizations.


When users from your organization start to share a space with users in an external organization using a Cisco Webex board, the allowed domains list is not applied and the space is not shared.
